Type 1 diabetes

It happens when your pancreas cannot produce insulin because of the attack of your immune system. You’re more likely to get type 1 diabetes if your family have a history of the disease. It is not curable, so anyone with type 1 needs insulin therapy instead od natural insulin from pancreas.

Type 2 diabetes

Insulin resistance causes type 2 diabetes. Your pancreas can still produce insulin, but your body does not use this hormone correctly anymore. Therefore, the BSL of your body can become too high or too low. Type 2 diabetes also has genetic or environmental cause. Patients with this type have special treatments, including changing your diet and exercise or some drugs if needed.

Gestational diabetes

Gestational diabetes occurs only during pregnancy, but it could damage mother and baby’s health. So a positive monitoring during pregnancy and delivery is very necessary.
